A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's USB Video Class (UVC) gadget driver. This vulnerability occurs in the uvcg_video_init() function when the kthread_run_worker() function fails. In such a scenario, an error logging mechanism attempts to access an uninitialized pointer, leading to a null pointer dereference. This can result in a system crash, causing a Denial of Service (DoS).
kernel: Linux kernel: Denial of Service due to null pointer dereference in USB Video Class gadget driver — rated Moderate by Red Hat. Released 2026-09-11, updated 2026-09-15.
