A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's RDMA/ionic driver. This vulnerability arises from the driver's incorrect handling of rdma_counter allocations, specifically by not embedding counter driver data as required. This oversight can lead to a NULL pointer dereference when the alloc_and_bind() function is called. A local attacker could potentially trigger this flaw, causing the system to crash and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
kernel: RDMA/ionic: Embed counter driver data in rdma_counter allocation — rated Moderate by Red Hat. Released 2026-09-11, updated 2026-09-18.
