## Overview

A race condition was found in the Linux kernel's IP framework for transforming packets (XFRM subsystem) when multiple calls to xfrm_probe_algs occurred simultaneously. This flaw could allow a local attacker to potentially trigger an out-of-bounds write or leak kernel heap memory by performing an out-of-bounds read and copying it into a socket.

## Affected

- `linux_kernel >= 3.14, < 4.9.327`
- `linux_kernel >= 4.10, < 4.14.292`
- `linux_kernel >= 4.15, < 4.19.257`
- `linux_kernel >= 4.20, < 5.4.212`
- `linux_kernel >= 5.5, < 5.10.140`
- `linux_kernel >= 5.11, < 5.15.64`
- `linux_kernel >= 5.16, < 5.19.6`
- `linux_kernel = 6.0`
- `fedora = 35`
- `fedora = 36`
- `fedora = 37`
- `debian_linux = 10.0`

## Remediation

Upgrade past the affected range:

- `linux_kernel 5.19.6`
