When handling secure virtual machines, a failure during secure memory paging fails to release allocated device memory and internal metadata. A local user can exploit this vulnerability by causing operations that trigger page-in errors, permanently consuming entries from the firmware-bounded secure memory pool. Over time, this resource exhaustion leads to a Denial of Service (DoS), rendering affected memory regions and virtual machines unusable.\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Low · affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · no fix planned: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · updated 2026-10-19 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-98433.json)\n\n**kernel: KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: fix secure device page leak on uv_page_in() failure** — rated Low by Red Hat.
