When a response declares a Content-Length that exceeds the maximum, the interceptor aborts cleanly, but when a response has no Content-Length and is chunked, the interceptor instead signals completion early once the accumulated size reaches the maximum, without pausing or aborting the request. Because the underlying parser keeps delivering body bytes, a second completion signal fires and trips an internal assertion, which aborts the request and tears down the connection. The application is left observing a misleading successful status with an empty or truncated body while the connection has actually been disconnected. This affects undici versions from 7.1.0 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `undici >= 7.1.0, < 7.29.1`\n- `undici >= 8.0.0, < 8.10.2`\n\n## Remediation\n\nUpgrade past the affected range:\n\n- `undici 8.10.2`\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **RHSA-2026:66008** · Red Hat · fixed in: Red Hat Hardened Images · released 2026-09-09 · [advisory](https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:66008)\n- **RHSA-2026:54389** · Red Hat · fixed in: Red Hat Hardened Images · released 2026-08-12 · [advisory](https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:54389)\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Moderate · affected: Exploit Intelligence, OpenShift Pipelines, Red Hat AMQ Broker 7, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform 2, Red Hat Build of Podman Desktop, Red Hat Developer Hub, … · no fix planned: Exploit Intelligence, Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer, Secrets Management Console for Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Hardened Images, … · updated 2026-09-21 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-84947.json)\n- **RHSA-2026:54438** · Red Hat · fixed in: Red Hat Hardened Images · released 2026-08-12 · [advisory](https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:54438)","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":20,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":20.4,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
