Prior to 16.1.1, the default configuration initializes the iPlanetDirectoryPro SSO cookie with HttpOnly disabled and without a protective SameSite default, and OAuth and OpenID Connect consent flows reuse that cookie through CsrfProtection as a CSRF token. When combined with same-origin cross-site scripting and a user following an attacker-controlled link, the cookie can be read and reused to steal the SSO session and complete attacker-driven consent grants. This issue is fixed in version 16.1.1.\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.\n\n## Package advisory (CVE-2026-53660)\n\nAffected packages:\n\n- `org.openidentityplatform.openam:openam-core < 16.1.1`\n\nPatched in:\n\n- `org.openidentityplatform.openam:openam-core 16.1.1`\n\nSource: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-fpmh-vx4h-xc33","depth":"twilight","depthScore":41,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":40.7,"likelihood":0.1,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[{"seq":203558,"id":"CVE-2026-53660","ts":1789468562556,"field":"cvss","old":null,"new":"7.4"}]}
