If a user sets a minimum buffer\nsize larger than the maximum, the minimum check overrides the maximum\ncheck, inverting the constraint.\n\nThis breaks the intended socket memory boundaries by allowing the\nvsk->buffer_size to grow beyond the configured vsk->buffer_max_size.\n\nFix this by checking the minimum first, and then the maximum. This\nensures the buffer size never exceeds the buffer_max_size.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `linux_kernel >= 5.5, < 5.10.258`\n- `linux_kernel >= 5.11, < 5.15.209`\n- `linux_kernel >= 5.16, < 6.1.175`\n- `linux_kernel >= 6.2, < 6.6.140`\n- `linux_kernel >= 6.7, < 6.12.90`\n- `linux_kernel >= 6.13, < 6.18.32`\n- `linux_kernel >= 6.19, < 7.0.9`\n\n## Remediation\n\nUpgrade past the affected range:\n\n- `linux_kernel 7.0.9`","depth":"twilight","depthScore":43,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":42.9,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
