When a trust relationship is configured between FreeIPA and Active Directory, Active Directory users can bypass authentication for FreeIPA services, including the portal, SMB server, and LDAP directory. This is possible by impersonating a client name in the Ticket Granting Service (TGS) due to FreeIPA services not verifying Privilege Attribute Certificate (PAC) certificates. This vulnerability could allow an authenticated Active Directory user to escalate their privileges within the FreeIPA domain.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `freeipa < 4.13.3`\n- `enterprise_linux = 7.0`\n- `enterprise_linux = 8.0`\n- `enterprise_linux = 9.0`\n- `enterprise_linux = 10.0`\n\n## Remediation\n\nUpgrade past the affected range:\n\n- `freeipa 4.13.3`\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **RHSA-2026:70564** · Red Hat · fixed in: Red Hat Enterprise Linux AppStream (v. 9), Red Hat Enterprise Linux CodeReady Linux Builder (v. 9) · released 2026-09-24 · [advisory](https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:70564)\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Moderate · affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 · no fix planned: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 · updated 2026-09-24 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-11861.json)","depth":"midnight","depthScore":53,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":52.8,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
